Summoners,
There were many concerns regarding the future of our competitive scene when we announced the recently completed EU server split. We promised that competitive tournaments would be supported equally on both the West and East/Nordic servers. Today, I’m proud to announce our first step towards that commitment.
The Electronic Sports League (ESL) go4lol cup is the most well known League of Legends tournament in Europe. Not only is it the longest running League of Legends tournament, but it also was one of the driving forces of the Season One Circuit, which was the method of qualifying teams like Fnatic and Against All Authority into the Season One Championship.
Starting THIS weekend, there will be not one, but TWO go4LoL cup series, one on EU West, the other on EU Nordic & East. Each series will be run specifically for its respective region and have the same prize money and structure. We hope that this will create not only a better experience for the participants, but an increased opportunity to participate in the go4LoL series.
Weekly Details:
Servers: EU West & EU East/Nordic
Date & Time: Every Sunday at 14:00 CEST (Signups close at 13:40 CEST)
Format: Single Elimination & Best of One
Max # of Teams: 128 or 256
Weekly prize (each region): €100
Monthly prize (each region): €500
Additionally, the ESL will be running two bonus cups with the same format and prizes over the next two weeks on Wednesday, July 27th and Saturday, July 30th.
If you’d like to find out the complete information for the go4lol series and sign up for this weekend tournament, then visit the ESL website here.
